Signed Memorandum for Stronger Cooperation between AOFI and Turkish Exim Bank (June 2019)
State Secretary in the Ministry of Economy, Milun Trivunac, was present today, together with the Turkish Ambassador in Belgrade, Tanju Bilgic, during the official signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Serbian Export Credit and Insurance Agency of the Republic of Serbia (AOFI) and Exim Bank from Turkey.
The Memorandum was signed by AOFI Director General Dejan Vukotic and president of the Exim Bank’s Enis Gultekin. The document represents a formal basis for deepening cooperation between the two institutions, improving the business climate for Serbian and Turkish entrepreneurs, and thus also the growth and development of the economy as a whole.
Mr. Vukotic emphasized he is proud of this agreement, pointing out that this is not the first document signed by the AOFI with related organizations from abroad.
“It is important for us that the Memorandum does not remain a ‘dead letter on paper’, but to bring benefits to our entrepreneurs, because we are their service. This is the basis for expanding cooperation, and at the same time opens the possibility for Serbian and Turkish businessmen to offer such products and services in the field of insurance and financing of export, which are available to the economy in developed countries, ” Mr. Vukotic said.
It is particularly significant, he added, as AOFI and Exim Bank are members of the Berne Union, the largest global association of credit and political risk insurers.
